Halifax, Canada – Vesuvius Media’s latest board game Nocturion, is currently the most popular tabletop game project on Kickstarter and the third most popular project overall. Designed by Giorgos Skourtis, Nocturion is a dark fantasy, worker placement and resource management game for 2 to 4 players, and successfully funded in the first 14 hours of its crowdfunding campaign.
“The Kickstarter campaign is generating great buzz and we couldn’t be happier,” said Konstantinos Manos, CEO and Lead Game Designer at Vesuvius Media. “We’re about to close day 4 of the campaign and we’ve already unlocked 3 stretch goals and a social goal!”
In the board game Nocturion, players assume the role of powerful noble houses that are trying to fulfil quests and find legendary heirlooms by gathering resources and forging mighty armies of beasts with variable asymmetric powers. The noble house with the most victory points proves its loyalty to Emperor Alexius IV and wins the game. The game plays in 40 to 60 minutes.
“The game art is also something we’re excited about,” said Manos.
Well-known for his work on the game Brass, Damien Mammoliti joined the Vesuvius Media team to produce the board game’s stunning artwork. From the box cover to the game board, the artwork is highly-detailed and beautifully crafted.
“Nocturion is extra special because it has lore that spans hundreds of years,” said Manos. “The world was originally created for our online strategy game by Mark Alexander, but the story is so rich and detailed that we’ve also started publishing graphic novels based in the same world and now a board game.”
The Nocturion Kickstarter campaign started on December 27 and finishes January 15.
